July 4th in St. Joe Does Include Parade and Raffle
We have seen most everything cancelled in the last year, and then some. This includes the normal festivities that happen in St. Joseph on the 3rd and 4th of July. Normally Joe Town Rocks kicks off on July 3rd with live music and some food and vendors around the Church of Saint Joseph. This year it has been announced that Joe Town Rocks will be cancelled again. But that doesn't include EVERYTHING.
Right now you can purchase raffle tickets for the raffle that will take place on Facebook Live July 4th. The tickets are for sale now from any of the Church of Saint Joseph parishioners, or at the parish office on Mondays from 8:30-4:30pm, Tuesdays from 9am to 2:30pm or Thursdays from 8:30-4:30pm. The list of prizes of fairly extensive, including Grand Prize of $5000 cash from anonymous donors. You can see the list here.
The 4th of July parade is scheduled to begin at 10am and will continue down the regular mile and a half route down Minnesota Street. Registration for the parade has begun, contact the St. Joseph Lions club for more information on the parade, fees and to see past parade and Joe Town Rocks pictures.
There will also be some parade prizes. Categories include:
- Best Dressed Business
- WOW! Extreme!
- Animals (with immediate clean-up)
- Cool Youth
- Classy Vehicles
- 4th of July Theme
The prize amounts are $150 for first place, and $100 for second place. You can also choose not to participate in the parade prize contest but still be involved with the parade.
