Local Excitement Builds In Little Falls For The Opening Of Kwik Trip

For years, people in Little Falls have been asking the same question: When are we getting a Kwik Trip? Wait? ARE we getting a Kwik Trip, or is it just a rumor?!

It sounds like the wait is almost over.

KWIK TRIP SETS OPENING DATE FOR LITTLE FALLS LOCATION

Kwik Trip has announced that its highly anticipated Little Falls location is expected to open in October, assuming everything stays on track. That means in just a matter of months, residents could be grabbing coffee, fueling up, and finally getting their hands on those famous Glazers and Dunkers without leaving town.

WHERE WILL THE NEW LITTLE FALLS KWIK TRIP BE LOCATED?

The new store will be built on the east side of Little Falls, just north of Highway 27, between 16th Street NE and 18th Street NE. It’s going to be one of the Full Scale Kwik Trips, so visitors will get to experience everything that they offer.

Getting to this point hasn’t been a quick or simple process. According to a recent article, the city has been working through a number of logistical hurdles to make the project possible. That included sorting out things like easements, road access, and stormwater management. Earlier this summer, the Little Falls City Council approved the final agreements needed to clear those obstacles, officially allowing the project to move forward.

UPDATES TO SURROUNDING INFRASTRUCTURE

Along with the store itself, the development will bring some updates to the surrounding infrastructure. That includes roadway improvements and drainage systems designed to fit into future plans for the area without interfering with a potential roundabout at Highway 27 and 18th Street NE.

200 LOCATIONS NOW IN MINNESOTA

Kwik Trip, based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, has built a loyal following across the Midwest, and Minnesota is no exception. With more than 200 locations in the state now, it’s become a go-to stop for everything from hot meals to fresh bakery items and quick groceries. Until now, the closest location for Little Falls residents has been in Sauk Rapids. Unless you work out of town, it is a bit of a drive for a 'Kwik' coffee run.

THE WAIT IS WORTH IT

That’s part of why this announcement feels like such a big deal locally. City leaders have said community interest in bringing a Kwik Trip to Little Falls has been strong for years, and clearly, people have been more than ready.

So if everything stays on schedule, by this fall, those quick trips out of town for Kwik Trip favorites could officially be a thing of the past.
