Once again, we had a good chat with Kate from Tri County Humane Society about this weeks adoptable pet. Not only is Lacie a great dog for any family, she also sings the blues. A bit out of tune but it's the effort that counts....

Meet Lacie! Lacie is the poster child of a hound dog. Very smart, LOVES outside, and talkative. Lacie was described to be very much like Houdini due to her ability to open doors and cabinets. She would benefit from basic obedience training and other mentally stimulating activities in order to set her up for success in her new home.

Lacie is used to an invisible fence in the backyard and has done well with that in her previous home. She would benefit from daily walks to physically tire her out and to get her used to a leash. We recommend an Emily Weiss Walkie leash to set her up for success, which can be found for purchase in our Re-Tail Shoppe.

Ask a TCHS staff member for more information! Lacie is known to be a counter-surfer and may try to steal a bite or two of food off the kitchen counter. She is a bit overweight, so measured meals, minimal treats, and plenty of exercise is recommended. Lacie has done excellent with other dogs, cats, and children in the past.

However ALL introductions to resident pets and family members should be slow and proper. She is known to be very scared of thunderstorms. She will try to sleep in the bed if you allow her to. She has been kenneled before but may cry in the kennel at first.

Lacie's previous owner mentioned she may have a sensitivity to chicken and should be fed a diet without chicken listed in the ingredients. She is such a sweet girl and is looking for the right owner to work with her and give her the love she needs! Could she be your new best friend?

Weighs 84 pounds. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, micro-chipping, vaccinating, de-worming, any medical procedures and general care.
