Look Up! 10 Reported UFO Sightings Across Minnesota In October

The truth is out there, at least that's what a popular sci-fi show once said. Across Minnesota during the month of October, there were 10 reported UFO sightings, more if you count people reporting past events. There was about a 2 week period where a majority of the sightings were made, including some in Elk River, Buffalo, Cold Spring, and Sartell. Here's what was reported in October across Minnesota skies.

10/2/24 - Afton, MN - The witness reported seeing something that was circular shaped and black and was 16 feet or more in size. The object then glowed, projected light, and then flashed and disappeared.

10/4/24 - Barnum, MN - Looking eastward the witness reported seeing "what appeared to be an airplane out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the red and green blinking lights and a straight pattern of this object coming over the tree line flying north to south. When I looked back in that direction maybe 5 seconds later I realized this object was not moving at all just in a standstill position maybe 120 yards away or so. It then split with two orbs coming out of the initial one to form a triangle that was pulsating in rainbow colors."

10/12/24 - Cold Spring, MN - The witness "was looking at the stars and noticed a 4-"star" constellation (patterned vaguely like a triangle/diamond) move smoothly from west to east. Appeared lower to the ground than airplanes/jets. Made no sound.
Had to be very large, given the relative visual observation of known aircraft."

10/12/24 - Prior Lake, MN - The witness was driving and noticed the clouds looked interesting so they took a photo, the photo seemed to show an object in the sky, that wasn't visible to the human eye at the time the photo was taken.

10/15/24 - Warroad, MN - The witness "recorded a night lapse with the new DJI Osmo Action 5 trying to get a video of the Tsuchinshan comet and captured an unknown object coming into view and then made a descending circle before continuing on its path. Total real time was about 15 minutes. Analyzing the still photos from the timelapse the object looks strange and has different colored lights. Then I saw a bunch of Tiktok videos of the same object filmed in real-time."

10/26/24 - West St. Paul, MN - The witness "saw" an object that "at first it looked like a frisbee made of lights (solid lights, not individual ones) in the sky probably 40,000 feet in the air and if you were to take a frisbee and then turn it on its side, you’d see all the lights around the ridge of the frisbee, of course this was probably about the size of an olive pit if you were to hold it at arms length and look at it up in the sky. First as a line and then it tilted as it moved west to east. It made no sound. The object slowly faded out in the night sky. It was a clear sky, dark with stars shining. The temperature was cold 51F. I could see the stars. There wasn’t a plane in the sky until after the object faded out."

10/26/24 - Buffalo, MN - The witness reported seeing "this glowing line, one solid line, making its way up from Buffalo Lake right near my apartment while on a walk. I took some shoddy video of it being obstructed by trees, but when It got to the clearing where I was going to film it, it either vanished physically or turned its lights off and blended into the night sky. It was weird. Starlink is a bunch of tiny dots, this was a glowing, well, line."

10/26/24 - Sartell, MN - The witness stated that "light started in the sky" and was "still with no sound. Orbs started. Saw a. Jet fly towards it and then turn away. After a few minutes, it began moving."

10/26/24 - Elk River, MN - The witness reported that they "saw a slow but steady moving rectangular object with bright glowing lights. It stayed that way for a few minutes before the pulsating glow slowly dimmed out until it could no longer be seen. For a short period of time, the lights were dim and you could still make out the rectangular object."

10/30/24 - Moose Lake, MN - The witness "noticed a rectangular object in the northern sky that had 2 rows of 6-8 dim lights. Also, the edge had the same color glow. Almost matched the colors of the stars. Moving west to east. It seemed to slowly vanish into the dark sky. Maybe rotated on its edge so under lights were not visible? No sounds. It seemed to be 1-2000ft high at the most. Definitely out of place in the sky."

All the witnessed reports were made to MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, and submitted to their online database (membership required).

What stood out to me was the period from October 12th through the 26th when portions of Central Minnesota saw plenty of action in the night sky.
