Our Champion PWHL Minnesota team now has a name. PWHL Minnesota is now 'The Minnesota Frost'!

This has been an exciting time for Minnesota women's hockey lovers, as Minnesota took home the first Walter Cup last season, and now with our new General Manager being named early last week, having new exciting announcements leading up to the next exciting season.

The Minnesota Frost is not the only team that revealed their new team names. All six inaugural teams were named. They are:

• Boston Fleet
• Minnesota Frost
• Victoire de Montreal
• New York Sirens
• Ottowa Charge
• Toronto Sceptres

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Overall, the feedback has been great. Most comments on the PWHL Facebook page are positive; many are happy that the names are original; they aren't copying anything or anyone else; the names represent each state and have great reasons why.

Of course, for those of you like me, who are ready to get all the gear and apparel to support our amazing Minnesota Frost before the season gets underway; or perhaps you're doing your early holiday shopping. Now is the time to get your Minnesota Frost apparel. Having one of the original Minnesota PWHL apparel items could be worth a lot of money one day; especially if we have another great season.

The PWHL said that the new Minnesota name and logo, “embodies the State of Hockey’s deep-rooted love for the ice.”

The cool new “F” logo features sharp icicle-like points. The league has been working hard on making sure the team's names and logos were decided in time for people to get their clothing and other items ready before season 2 begins.
