Once in awhile I have to feature a more modern band on "Metal After Midnight" just because there's some great stuff still coming out.  "Spiritual Beggars" aren't what I consider true "Metal" by definition anymore, but it was 1971 they'd be one of the heaviest bands out there.

I have often considered them to be a more modern version of "Deep Purple".  They still use the Hammond organ and the music obviously takes cues from the "Machine Head" era of Rock.

Their new release "Earth Blues" is another testament to the bands dedication to the 70's rock.  From strait up Rock to Psychedelic they take you on a journey of fantastic music.  The rest of the world gets it, now it's time we embrace the bands keeping Classic Rock and Metal alive.

And for the helluva it, here's the new Deep Purple "Hell To Pay".
