Minnesota’s Governor Race Heats Up With Lindell’s Entry
Grab the popcorn! The circus is about to arrive in Minnesota politics!
The Minnesota Governor’s race just became a lot more interesting. In the last week, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell announced he’s running for governor, and got a big endorsement from President Trump.

Earlier this month, Lindell filed paperwork to join an already crowded field trying to become the Republican candidate for Minnesota Governor.
All news about his addiction and election interference aside, Lindell has a long business history in Minnesota.
A native of Mankato, he attended, but did not graduate, from the University of Minnesota in 1979. Lindell operated a number of Carver County businesses through the 1980’s before developing the “MyPillow” in 2004. He currently leads two websites under the Mike Lindell Media Corporation: LindellTV.com, a video streaming site, and Vocl.com, a social network site.
His life took a hard right turn in 2016 when he met then-candidate Trump.
He met President Trump in 2016. At a Liberty University speech, he said “When I met with Donald Trump, it felt like a divine appointment, and when I walked out of that office, I decided I was going to go all in". Lindell was President Trump’s Minnesota Campaign Chair in 2020. He ran for the Chair of the Republican National Committee in 2023.
At an event at Rocky Mount, North Carolina Friday, President Trump endorsed Lindell’s candidacy.
"That man suffered. What he did, what he went through because he knew the election was rigged. These people went after him, they went after his company. He was just a guy that said, 'Jeez, this election was so crooked, it was so rigged.' He fought like hell."
Lindell is among several contenders seeking the Republican endorsement for Governor at this spring’s convention. Some candidates have said they’ll continue their campaign through to the primary with or without the endorsement.
