If you have been to Maple Grove and looking for a great bar - grill and also something for families to do, Dave and Busters is a great idea.

I have always thought they had some tasty food options, and also had fun games to play as well.  It's fun for families, or even a group of outgoing adults.  As some might say, it's Chuck E Cheese for adults.  Maybe not quite that, but you get the idea.

I have also heard that it would be a great idea for the former Herberger's location.

What prompted this idea was the news that Dave and Busters is opening a new and updated version in the Southdale Mall, located in Edina.

From Bring Me the News:

...will include private game suites with "high-tech darts" and shuffleboard, a new store design, and a new menu that features pasta and steak, as well as classic bar items like wings and burgers.

It'll also bring in The Arena, a 360-degree high-tech gaming experience with interactive digital walls and floor, as well as what it calls "immersive watch," with a new 40-foot screen and more than 30 TVs around the bar for sporting events.

I know that some people will compare this "New" Dave & Busters with the former B Social which was located downtown St. Cloud on 5th Avenue.  That didn't seem to work.  Even though they had great food, and then an arcade upstairs.  The concept did not work here.  So I do see that argument, but I also think that Dave and Busters has a reputation already and have been successful, and it might be a great addition to the downtown St. Cloud scene.

As you can see with the plan above for the new and reimagined Dave and Busters in the Southdale Mall, which opens this Friday, March 14th, this would be much more than just an arcade.  It has some great updated elements.  I personally can't wait to check it out.
