Sports Angling creates around 4.4 billion dollars into the economy in Minnesota.  The state is able to use those funds for things like helping manage fish populations, maintaining the trails that are so popular around the state, and taking care of the water ways around the state so that the fishing industry stays vibrant from year to year.

According to a Google search, Minnesota’s General Fund for 2025 is estimated to be $31.9 billion dollars, the Department of Natural Resources gets about 0.6% of the General Fund for their work.

With so many using the states resources, the DNR would like to get input from residents to talk about the value of the fees that they pay and how those fees are used around the state to keep the fishing appeal and the many other ways the outdoors are utilized.
