Ice Castles Will Be in a Repeat Location This Year in Minnesota
Thinking and experiencing some record heat the last few weeks here in Minnesota doesn't make you really think about it being cold enough to create an ice castle wonderland any time soon. But eventually we know what will be happening. We will all be complaining about the cold, snow and wind that happens in the next few months. Yes, I do realize that some people love that weather. That's the great thing about Minnesota - all the seasons. Basically something for everyone. Don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes, it will change. As the saying goes.
ICE CASTLES
One of the cooler (see what I did there) events of the winter is the Ice Castles event. I have been to this attraction a few years ago and it is totally worth it to bundle up and look at all of the spectacular formations.
There are tunnels, slides, fountains, rooms and a refreshment stand. It's like a winter wonderland village. It's so cool. But that is what they need - cold. There have been a couple of years where they were unable to achieve the Ice Castle formations or at least keep them from melting In those cases they had to close early. I believe a couple of years ago they were only open for a few days before everything was melting.
LOCATION & TICKETS
Last year they moved the frozen attraction to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. And this year, it will again be in that same location. Tickets for this event will go on sale December 2nd. You can get them in advance through the Ice Castles website.
