Minnesota State Fair Event – Kick Off to Summer in May

The great Minnesota get-together is something that a lot of Minnesotans and people from the surrounding area look forward to every year.  The Minnesota State Fair is considered one of the best in the country, so why not have some events that add to the fun leading up to the actual state fair that happens in August?

It's the Kickoff to Summer at the Fair event that is entering its fourth year.

The event is scheduled to happen this May 23-26th, leading up to Memorial Day  But - the event will end on the Sunday prior to Memorial Day, which is Monday, the 27th.

What can you expect?

The fair describes it as a fun, and a "slice of the fair" with more food and fun events than there has been in previous years.  It's a little taste of the fair a couple months before the actual big event.

Favorite fair food and brews at nearly 40 vendors including some of the most popular items like Amish doughnuts from Peachey’s Baking Company (new this year!), pickle pizza from Rick’s Pizza and State Fair specialty beers such as Mini Donut Beer, Chocolate Chip Cookie Beer and Key Lime Pie Beer.

There will also be about 20 vendors and 3 stages with entertainment for the weekend.

Discount tickets are on sale this Friday, April 5th which will save you $3 off the regular admission price.  This event as sold out in previous years, so if you would like to go, it's best to take advantage of the early discounted price.  You will need to pick your time/date that you plan to go.  Also, there will be some door prizes chosen randomly from the ticket purchases.
