Minnesota in the Top Ten of Most Fun States in America
When we, as Minnesotans think of fun places to go, our own home state is not usually on the agenda. We all know that we have a ton of lakes, and that is probably the single most used thing in this state. We all love "going up North" and "going to the cabin or lake". And hunting somewhere where your family has land, or where you group hunt every year with your friends. But other than that, when you say where is the fun, Minnesota dosn't usually come up as a first thought.
Recently there was a study done by Wallethub. They do all of these crazy studies and then let us know how we did. This time is was a ranking of The Most Fun States. And Minnesota came up in the top 10. We came in at number 9, but it's still the top ten.
WHAT LED TO THIS SHOWING FOR MINNESOTA IN THE STUDY
Here is the criteria that they were looking for in order to make that distinction.
HOW IS NEVADA NOT THE MOST FUN STATE - NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY?
As mentioned above, Minnesota came in at number 9, California came in as the most fun state. Florida came in at number 2 and Illinois - yep, Illinois came in at number 3. I would have thought that New York would have taken one of those top three spots. New York came in at number five. Number four went to Nevada - gambling capital of the world, Las Vegas! How is that not the most fun state? It's got to be the cost. As that was included in the criteria.
NO EXCUSE TO SAY THERE'S NOTHING TO DO IN MINNESOTA
So, with this information, let's think about when we say "there's nothing to do" we look around and realize that we live in the 9th most fun state! Things could be worse, and apparently more expensive. You can see the full study here.
