The Minnesota Twins had an amazing 2019 on the field but were hit with some devastating news this week.

The Minnesota Twins lost one of their own as prospect Ryan Costello was found dead in his hotel room in New Zealand.

According to KSTP, Costello passed away in his sleep of natural causes.

The 23-year-old was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 2017 and was later moved in a deal to Minnesota.

He was in New Zealand to play in the Australian Baseball League.

In 2019, Costello showed some power and knocked in 15 home runs for the Twins in their minor league system.

The Minnesota Twins tweeted their condolences on Monday morning, "We are saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Ryan Costello. The entire Twins organization sends our most sincere condolences to Ryan's family, friends, coaches, and teammates."
