The Minnesota Wild (39-24-7) lost to the visiting Colorado Avalanche (37-24-8) 5-1 Tuesday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Wild have been outscored 19-4 in their last three games against the Avs.

Colorado led 1-0 after the first period, and 2-1 after the second -- before pouring it on in the third, scoring three unanswered goals. The lone Minnesota goal came from Mikko Koivu in the second period. The Wild outshot the Avs 33-22.

With fourteen regular season games left, the Wild sit in third place in the division, just three points ahead of Colorado and Dallas.
