The worst thing... like a fear when you are walking by yourself, entering your car in a parking ramp or deserted parking lot, going to your apartment or home by yourself... that you could be a victim of assault.  Either sexually or physically, not sexually.  This is something that runs through your mind any time you are in a situation like this.  Hopefully it never happens to you, but there is always that possibility.  It's best to be ready for the unthinkable to happen.

Turqouya “Tee” Williams knows what it feels like to be a victim of such a crime: in 2014, while exiting her vehicle after work on Bloomington Ave., she was attacked by two men.

This was really a traumatic experience.  But she has turned this into a positive.  Williams has now launched a set of keychains under the business name of Soul SIstas, LLC that are not only fashionable, but will hopefully give a person a sense of confidence and also protection.  This is one of those things that you hope you never have to use, but it's there if you need it.

The key chains include self defense consisting of tools, sprays and alarms.  The website also has a line of empowerment clothing items.  The keychains look to range in price from $20 to $45.  There is also a keychain that is for Autism Awareness Safety.

On the website, founder, Williams, makes this statement:

"I grew up, watching women in my life go through awful things I will not repeat. In turn, I also experienced violence. I feel strongly about our protection, wellness, and healing." - Turqouya Williams, Founder and CEO of Soul Sistas LLC MN

Be kind; for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

Be safe.
