This oughta be fun!  Minnesota Dept of Transportation is looking for name suggestions for their fleet of snowplows. Maybe if they had names, I'd feel a closer relationship with them and stop swearing at them. I know they are just doing their job but I'm sure MnDOT isn't interested in any of the names I've come up with in the past.

MnDOT got the idea from Scotland where they have named their snowplows and some are pretty clever. They came up with names like Speedy Mercury, Snowbegone Kenobi, Gritty Gritty Bang Bang, Ready Spread Go, David Plowie and Roger Spreaderer.

"I think we can get a bit more creative than Scotland. Time to BLOW US AWAY with your creative and fun ideas for snowplow names. We'll be accepting submissions through Jan 22nd, 2021- and then you get to vote on your favorites in February,"  MnDot announced last Thursday.

We can, right of the bat, rip off Scotland's Snowbegone Kenobi and change it to Snowbegone Trail, you know like Wobegon Trail.

Here are some of the other submissions;

Superspreader, Ron Ploward, Kent Brrrbek, Justin Moresnow, Halloween Blizzard 1991.

If you have, what you believe to be a great name for a MnDOT snowplow, fire off you submission before Jan 22nd and who knows? You may have named a snowplow. Go to MnDOT.org for more information.  Good luck!
