Women in abusive relationships face more challenges than just surviving. When they are finally able to escape the relationship, they face the likelihood of having to cut-and-run; leaving their belongings behind because they don't have the time or resources to quickly move while the abuser is away.

A pair of California men are changing that.

Meet Aaron and Evan Steed. They founded "Meathead Movers" in 1997. At the time they were high schoolers looking for some extra cash (their original fee was $20 and a pizza). As the business grew, the Steeds began to receive frantic calls from women who wanted to move while their abusers were away.

One problem: the women had little or no money.

The noble Steeds didn't hesitate; declining any offers of compensation and rushing to the address to get the women moved out.

After an abuser came home in the middle of a move in 2000, the company partnered with a local women's shelter to ensure both the women and the movers were safe.

The company has since expanded to several California counties.

Just a few days ago the Meatheads launched a hashtag campaign to ask other businesses to also help women facing domestic violence. The hashtag is #MoveToEndDV. The goal is to spark 100 new stories of businesses helping out.
