New to Costco? Sign Up & Get a New Extra Perk
Believe it or not, there are still people who do not have either a Costco or a Sam's Club membership. We have had either Sam's Club or Costco for probably around 20 years or so.
I have heard people who do not have either of those memberships say that they don't think they would ever use it. Plus, who has room to put everything in bulk in their home?
While that last part might be kind of true, there are several items where they are just a bigger size than what you would get in a regular big box store, but not a package of 6 of the same thing. Yes, there are those things too, but most of the time I'm not getting that. The produce is great, some of the seasonal items are really worth the membership, and a handfull of other things too. The pharmacy is one HUGE perk. The cost of your prescriptions may be significantly less than they are from a regular pharmacy. And you don't have to be a member to use the pharmacy, but the discounts might be better if you are.
So, if you are thinking about getting a Costco membership, now is a great time to do that because they have an added perk just for new members or former members who have let their membership lapse for at least 18 months.
This new perk is when you get the Gold Star Card Membership, which will cost you $65, you will also get a $20 digital costco card. This card can be used either online or in person.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind if you want to take advantage of this deal.
IMPORTANT: You must redeem your new membership ONLINE prior to arriving at a Costco location.
Keeping that in mind, this is still a great deal! And actually, might be more convenient that going INTO the warehouse to get this membership and extra perk.
Speaking of perks, you get money back once a year, based on how much you spend throughout the year this check may cover the cost of your renewal. I do have the executive membership at Costco, and I haven't paid full price ($130) since the first time I got the membership. That has been 15 years. Great perk!
