Somewhere in Osakis, there’s got to be a basement full of water.

On December 22nd, City Clerk Angela Jacobson posted a mystery on the city’s Facebook page.

The City is currently losing approximately 50,000 gallons of water per day and has been for the past week.

We ask seasonal property owners to please check your property, and residents to watch for any water surfacing or running where it shouldn’t be.

If you notice anything suspicious, please report it immediately to City Hall.

The water draw was noticed on December 14th. By the time of the Facebook post, someone had used more than 400,000 gallons of water. A day after the post went on Facebook, the water draw suddenly stopped.

400,000 gallons of water is too much for an ice rink, and one would think that much water would have to pool up somewhere.

Right now, it’s a mystery. But, in about a month, someone will be getting a water bill that’s about $1500 higher than normal.

That won’t be a computer error. Check your basement.

Beautiful Photos From Clemens Gardens

This weekend was a great one to get out and do something fun. I wanted to destress, so I drove over to Clemens Gardens for a nice stroll through the gardens. What a beautiful place it is. There are flowers everywhere, as well as fountains and statues. These photos only capture part of what's available to see, but in case you haven't had a chance to visit, now is a great time to view them, as everything is in full bloom. Take a look at some beautiful photos and then make a plan to take your own trip. All of your senses will thank you.
