Paul McCartney is coming to US Bank Stadium on October 17th, and we have a chance for listeners to WIN tickets before they go on sale. The public onsale is set for Friday morning through Ticketmaster.

Our contest is pretty easy to follow- we play a Paul McCartney song at the top of the 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. hours. Then, the next morning, we will take caller ten. That caller will hopefully be able to tell us the three songs that were played in the order that we played them. Easy-peasy.

HEY JUDE

Wednesday offered our first chance to give away a pair of tickets. Judy from Cold Spring was caller ten and correctly told us which three songs were played (Silly Love Songs, Live and Let Die and Say, Say, Say), which meant two tickets to the show!

As the phones started ringing off the hook on Wednesday morning, I wondered if all of the people calling had truly listened to the radio and written down the songs... or if some of them were 'Winging it' (pun intended). What were the odds that someone who made a total guess could get all three songs right- in order no less?

Math like that is way outside of my grasp, so I consulted our handy, not-at-all evil or dangerous friends at Artificial Intelligence for a quick calculation.

THE MATH

The AI estimated 80 'primarily' Paul McCartney-sung Beatles songs, 100 songs with Wings and 200 solo songs. Using those numbers it rounded the number of McCartney songs to 500.

The odds of guessing the three Paul McCartney songs that we played, in any order at all, would be 1 in 20.7 million, according to the math performed by the AI.

The odds of guessing all three songs, in order, without any previous knowledge of what they are: a staggering 1 in 124.3 million! For comparison's sake, the odds of winning the Powerball lottery are 1 in 292.2 million.

MAYBE JUST PLAY THE GAME?

With that being said, your best bet is to tune in on Wednesday and Thursday at 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.. Just write down the three song titles and join us at 7:05 the next morning for your chance to win!
