Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Bands' first North American trek since 2006 got underway last Saturday night in Toledo, OH.

And judging by reports so far, it was electrifying.

The set-list was a mix of ones I honestly wouldn't have seen coming, classics and ones that at face value, I don't even recognize (I still haven't seen the full track-listing for the new album).

The new single, "Downtown Train", was featured early on.

There have been questions - going back as far as early this decade - as to the staying power of his voice (he himself has said it's a concern for him: he'll be 66 in May).

Yet again judging by the early buzz and some murky fan vids on youtube, Detroit's finest (and that's saying something) can still deliver just fine.

The set opened with "Roll Me Away" (a fav for sure, but secretly I was hoping for a dimmed theatre, and suddenly Alto Reed's sax blasts the opening of "Turn The Page") and 25 tunes would then follow.

He'd close her, appropriately enough, with "Rock and Roll Never Forgets".

Keep listening to THE LOON for your shot at tickets and for details on the killer pre-party we're cooking up.
