For Minnesotans this year, of course we know the answer to this. In general though, Super Bowl Sunday is as big of a party as NYE or Thanksgiving eve, so should we have that Monday off from work? Most employees AND HR Managers are in agreement that we should make it an unofficial paid holiday in the United States.

According to PR Newswire, 72% of HR Managers feel that the Monday after the Super Bowl should be paid time off for their employees!

This year the big game is being held at U.S. Bank Stadium here in Minnesota, so it should just be a given that any employer here in Minnesota should offer Monday the 5th off this year. Considering that 38% of us agree that our favorite sport to watch is "football", and the rest that don't agree will be watching the big game as part of a social past time that Sunday, that following day at work won't be all that productive.

We'd love to know what you think about the Monday after the Super Bowl being a paid day off. If you're an HR Manager then even better to know how you feel. We'll be sure and post the results before Super Bowl Sunday!
