If you are planning on going on a trip somewhere that involves a flight, it can be super exciting because you are going somewhere hopefully fun, and warm (if in the Winter) but it can also be filled with some anxiety.  The anxiety comes from getting to the airport, parking, making sure everyone has everything they need, and making sure what they need is something that is approved for carry-on.

The last thing anyone wants to deal with is flight delays or even worse, cancellations.  This is awful with any flight, and it does happen with every airline every now and again.  But one airline seems to have that happen almost on a regular.  To the point if they are on time it's almost unexpected.  That could be a slight exaggeration, but it really does seem to happen to an excessive amount on Spirit Airlines.

Now, reports show that Spirit Airlines is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

From KARE 11

Spirit, the biggest U.S. budget airline, has lost more than $2.5 billion since the start of 2020 and faces looming debt payments totaling more than $1 billion over the next year. Spirit said it expects to operate as normal as it works its way through a prearranged Chapter 11 bankruptcy process and that customers can continue to book and fly without interruption.

So, if you do have a flight booked with Spirit, good luck, and also things should probably go as usual.  I hope that if you do have a flight with Spirit, that your plans will go on as planned.  That has not been my experience with Spirit, but I have also heard that others have flown Spirit without any sort of issue.  So, there is that.  Just "buyer beware".
