St. Cloud Jolly Trolley Back for 2020 With Some Changes
It's 2020, and as we know now, nothing is as it was in previous years. But the thing that has stayed the same, and probably gotten even bigger, is the fact that people are still in need.
Jolly Trolley normally brings out the Metro Bus to several area grocery stores. This year, because of COVID protocols, it will be done a bit differently.
We know that the need for the local food shelves is always there, and definitely is a bigger need this year. So, you have some options on how to give to Catholic Charities Emergency Services, Promise Neighborhood of Central Minnesota, and the St. Cloud area Salvation Army.
If you are able to give either of non-perishable foods or in the form on a monetary donation, you have a few places around St. Cloud that can take your donation as well as an online option. If you would like to donate in person, you can do so at any Metro Bus location, at Townsquare Media studios on Lincoln Ave in St. Cloud, or at either Royal Tire location on Hwy 10 or on Roosevelt Rd by December 20th.
Something to keep in mind, this was from their website:
...because food shelves are able to purchase up to five times the amount of food with each dollar as retail customers. Food shelves are also able to purchase for specific needs. Additionally, all monetary donations in December to Catholic Charities and the Salvation Army are matched through the 20th annual Charity Challenge (up to $100,000) from the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.
The Jolly Trolley started in 2011 and within those past almost 10 years, has collected over 15 tons of food and nearly $21,000. This has helped families in the St. Cloud area so much, so your donation, no matter how small still helps.
