Mardi Gras - if you are familiar with this celebration it is the time just before Lent leading up to Fat Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday) with a lot of indulgences, and then the time of fasting and other sacrifices during the lenten season leading up to Easter Sunday.  If you live or go to New Orleans during Mardi Gras, that is on another level.  Not only do they celebrate for Fat Tuesday, there are a bunch of little parades and celebrations leading up to the actual Fat Tuesday.

MARDI GRAS FUNDRAISER CELEBRATION EVENT

Here in St. Cloud, the Mardi Gras celebration means something a little different.  The Mardi Gras fundraiser with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud.  This annual fundraiser benefits Catholic Charities Emergency Services, with programs that include a food shelf, clothing program, and financial assistance program; and Catholic Charities Domus Transitional Housing, a facility for single women and their children.

HOW DO YOU GET TICKETS TO THE EVENT

Tickets are on sale now for the event that is scheduled for Saturday, January 31st at Rivers Edge Convention Center.  The event does include a dinner provided by Custom Catering by Short Stop, there's a great silent auction, and dance the night away with music from the Fabulous Armadillos.

DO YOU NEED TICKETS IN ADVANCE & HOW MUCH ARE THEY

I have had the opportunity to attend this event a couple of times, and it really is a great time.  Tickets are available in advance by going to ccstcloud.org/mardi-gras, or you can always call 320- 650-1643.  This event has been known to sell out, so if you want to participate, it's best to get your tickets sooner than later.  Tickets are $110 a piece.
