FRIENDSHIP TATTOOS

I have ONE tattoo. It might shock you to know. My friend Abbey M Graves (whom I refer to as my 'radio daughter ') and a Co-host from my past, Chad Taylor, were all going to get a tattoo together.

Abbey and I both chose a radio tattoo, although each was designed to our unique styles, and Chad chickened out. Seriously. I had a radio put on a 'hidden part of my rear end', that had a few musical notes above it and the words "Beautiful Day" as we ended our show every day with..."Have yourself a beautiful day...Don't let it get away," back when I was on Mix 94.9 FM. Abbey chose just to get a radio. A simple reminder that we all had such a great working relationship together, AND we all love radio.

We went to Wingnut Tattoo that day. It was April 21st of 2016. I don't think I would have remembered that except that it just happened to be the day that Prince died.

The tattoo didn't take long. I think it took about an hour, and the artist told me that if it faded at all, to come back and he would re-ink it at no cost. I don't think it's ever really faded, and I was super happy with the work he did.

MAKE A SPECIAL MEMORY

We still share that time together, and I'm sure there are memories that everyone has from getting their first, last, or next tattoo. It really is a way of bringing people together. No phones...just some solid alone time, in a quite space, getting inked.
