BABY FARM ANIMALS

Don't we all love baby farm animals? I was lucky enough to grow up on a farm, and had the opportunity to see a lot of baby cows, puppies and kittens, and since we were in farm country, many of my neighbors had baby horses, chickens, goats and more. I still love the smell of puppies, the smell of hay in the barn, and the sounds of all the farm animals in the morning.

It's time to enjoy those times again by having some virtual fun with the farm babies at the Minnesota Zoo. This is especially important for your kids or grandkids that may have never experienced the joy of these beautiful animals.

According to an article in BringMeTheNews.com, the annual event will feature piglets, goats, baby chicks, llamas and many more beginning this Thursday.

VIRTUAL EVENT; FOR  NOW

For now, the event will be virtual, with videos, photos, games zookeeper talks, live webcams of the farm baby goats and sheep in the goat and sheep barn, and craft ideas on the Minnesota Zoo's website.

I'm sure you'd rather see the animals in person, and you can do that too. You just have to wait until the Family Farm opens up to the public on April 9th.

Something new coming to the Minnesota Zoo this year will be "Forgotten Farm Babies'; talking about all of those important pollinators that live on farms, like bees, butterflies, and more. The program will discuss the importance they have in creating a healthy ecosystem and productive food system.

PUT THE EVENT ON YOUR CALENDAR

There's no need to hurry, but definitely put this on your calendar. The Farm Babies event will run through Sunday, May 16th.
