Sauk Rapids Auto Repair Shop Closed After Over 10 Years In Business

A Sauk Rapids automotive repair business is shutting down after 12 years of serving the community on Benton Drive.

Thiele and Sons Automotive, which opened in Sauk Rapids in 2014, took to social media on Monday to make the announcement.

Well Sauk Rapids, that's a wrap. Thank you for letting take care of your vehicles from Benton Drive these last 12 years, 17 years over all in Central Minnesota. We are thankful for the many connections and relationships through out those years. After a lot of discussions, we decided that we could no longer deliver the service and timliness that our customers deserved.

Shop owner Adam Thiele says he has accepted a position with another repair shop located on St. Cloud's East Side.

Prior to housing Thiele and Sons Automotive, the Benton Drive building hosted Seager's Auto Repair for over 30 years before a short stint hosting Car Care Specialists, per The Newsleaders' 2015 story.

That Newsleaders story also mentions that the Thiele and Sons name did not reflect the owners' own three sons, instead the 'and Sons' was used to separate the company from those with a similar name in the area.
