Excitment is in the air if you're a fan of Thin Lizzy, the band from Dublin, Ireland are set to  record their first album in roughly 30 years. It will be the first Thin Lizzy album without  Phil Lynott (original frontman).

Scott Gorham(guitar)  stated that recording will likely start next month and  will work with producer Kevin Shirley on the upcoming album. No release date for the project has been set as of yet.

Scott also stated, "I'll be going out to Los Angeles at the end of the month to work on some songs with  Damon Johnson (guitar) and then I think we will start recording in October in our producer Kevin Shirley's studio."

Scott goes on to say, "We are all excited about the new record but especially [vocalist] Ricky Warwick and Damon Johnson (guitar), they just can’t wait to start recording!"  "You have got six guys there that are chomping at the bit that can't wait to get this thing going." (Vintagerock)

The current Thin Lizzy lineup includes Scott Gorham(guitar), Ricky Warwick (vocals) and Johnson along with founding member Brian Downey (drums), Darren Wharton (keyboards) and  Marco Mendoza (bass).

Phil Lynott was 36 years old when he passed away in 1986

The Last album by the band was , Thunder and Lightning, and was released in 1983.

The original band formed in 1969 with Phil Lynott as lead vocalist and he is surely missed.
