Two Minnesota Hospitals Recognized As Two of Americas Best

Seeing how I’m not a doctor nor do I play one on TV, I, like a lot of people, need to lean on those with a better understanding of the health care profession for the grading of hospitals on a deeper level.  

Two Minnesota based hospitals make the list for “Greatest Hospitals in America”. The findings come from Beckers Hospital Review bases their findings in these categories: 

Clinical Excellence 

Commitment to Patient Safety 

Innovative Initiatives 

Research Efforts 

Education 

And 

Levels of Patient Satisfaction 

The first of these hospitals is Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Abbott serves more than 200,000 patients per year and is spotlighted for their commitment to patient care and the expertise they treat patients with.  

Newsweek has ranked Abbott Northwestern the #1 hospital in the Twin Cities and the second ranked healthcare facility in Minnesota.  

Healthgrades has recognized the facility in several areas including being one of the Top 100 Hospitals for Joint Replacements and Spine Surgery.  

The other hospital in Minnesota to be named as one of America’s Best is one of America’s most famous hospitals, The Mayo Clinic in Rochester. 

The Mayo Clinic is the largest integrated, non-profit medical group practice in the world. Over 1.4 million patients from 140 countries seek help from The Mayo Clinic each year.  

Recognition is nothing new to this hospital, The Mayo Clinic has received more Number One Specialty Rankings than any other hospital in America.  

Not only are the patients in good hands at The Mayo Clinic, but their employees are apparently well taken care of as well. In 2023, The Mayo Clinic was voted Number Three on the Forbes list of Americas Best Large Employers.  

And for Thirteen straight years, The Mayo Clinic has been named a “Most Attractive Employer” on a list from college students in a survey Universum.  

There are good hospitals around the state of Minnesota, but if you ever face a serious situation, it’s good to know there are two highly recognized hospitals not that far away.
