Happy New Year. I'm back after 11 days off in a row, a new record but I think I can break it. Didn't visit anywhere warm, actually, I hung around home pondering (I like to ponder) things like life, death and real estate.

During a particularly magical moment I had, what I thought at the time was, a great idea. Now that I'm actually writing it down I fear an extended stay at a "What, I can't leave?" facility might be in order.

Anyway, the idea would first require somehow taking over Manitoba, the Canadian province just north of us. Currently, Manitoba is being under utilized. Perhaps we could lease it or, just take it over and see if anyone even notices. What would we use it for, you might ask? A national cemetary. I know, brilliant!

We always hear about big cities running out of room to expand, driving real estate prices up. Well, what if we moved all the cemetaries to Manitoba? That would certainly free up a whole lot of real estate here in the good ol' USA. So Manitoba would be one big cemetary and we could put hotels and attractions for people visiting their departed loved ones. Besides freeing up millions of acres of prime real estate, we could stop speaking of death all together.

For instance, "Hey, did you hear about Bob? Went to Manitoba". "Mommy, where's Grandpa?", "Well, Sweetie, Grandpa went to Manitoba".  Can you see the beauty of this idea?

Maybe I shouldn't take vacations, anymore.
