Ringo Starr makes a teenaged cancer survivor's wish come true by sharing the stage with him in Hollywood over the weekend.

The survivor's name is Alexx Kipp, and according to the Los Angeles Times the meeting was made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Seventeen-year-old Alexx survived brain cancer and his father, Charles said his son always had a dream that he would love to meet Ringo Starr. Well, the former Beatle drummer came through and made the wish (and more) come true.

Not only did this courageous young man get to meet Ringo, Ringo also gave him a drum kit. And this wasn't just any drum kit. It was Ringo's drum kit. He also invited Alexx to jam with him on stage at the Hard Rock Cafe in front of a crowd that included Alexx's parents and his sister.

Alexx learned how to play drums at the age of eight by listening to Beatles albums over and over again. Said Starr of the meeting, "It puts you in your place. You think you've got a cold -- you're all, 'Oh, what about me?' Then you help these kids. You think of the families. I've got children too, and it's got to be hard."

Ringo has also designed a tshirt, which is available throughout all Hard Rock International locations. Proceeds benefit his Lotus Foundation, which directly supports Make-A-Wish.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation helps children with life-threatening medical conditions across the country by fulfilling their one true wish in order to create joy and rekindle their belief in themselves and a healthy future. Want to help? Find out how by clicking here.
