Very, very few bands make the list of “All time greats.” Some of the elite rock bands in history being Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and Nirvana. Of course, it’s hard to talk about the all time greats without mentioning the one and only – AC/DC.

The rock titans led by Angus Young have been rocking our faces off for nearly 50 years, and if Angus had it his way, they’d keep rocking for another 50 years. When you start dissecting AC/DC you very quickly encounter the age old question – who is the better frontman, Bon Scott or Brian Johnson?

I can honestly say that this is one of the most difficult questions that has ever been posed to me. So much great music came out of both periods of the band. I think one of the reasons that it’s so difficult to choose between the two, is that stylistically the band’s music didn’t actually change that much when Brian joined the band - unlike Van Halen, where the choice of vocalist greatly impacted the music.

I love both Brian and Bon, but if I had to choose one over the other, I guess I’d say I liked Bon Scott just slightly more. I think his style was a better fit for the band, although Brian is probably a better singer technically. But to be honest, my answer to this question probably changes on a weekly basis. Maybe next week I’ll change my mind (and I probably will.)
