Will Star Wars Episode 9 Mark The End Of The Skywalker Saga?
In the world of Star Wars, there’s one big bantha in the room that everyone is wondering about – will Star Wars Episode 9 mark the end of the Skywalker family saga? Lets evaluate.
Firstly, the one and only – Luke Skywalker – the oldest living member of the family up until The Last Jedi, is now gone thanks to his bipolar nephew (although, since Mark Hamill is set to appear in the next episode, we will likely still get to see Luke as a force ghost, which is pretty cool.)
Princess Leia (who will likely meet her fate in episode 9) is far too old to have a child at this point – not to mention – Carrie Fisher is no longer with us. Rest in peace princess. Kylo Ren appears to have no love interest, and if Rey really has no special family heritage then that means Kylo really is the last of the Skywalker bloodline.
So, is this the end? My personal prediction is – yes, we are approaching the end. I get a funny feeling that part of the purpose of creating the sequel trilogy (aside from making Disney all kinds of money) is so that we can see the Skywalker family story in it’s entirety.
I predict that in the end, Kylo Ren and Princess Leia will both meet their fate in the next installment of the franchise, and that will be the end. With the Skywalkers out of the picture there will be room in the galaxy for a new generation of jedi to take their place in the story of Star Wars.
