Wizard of Oz Comes Back to the Big Screen
It's the 80th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz. Can you believe it's been that long? I I remember this movie when I was a kid and thought it was like a new thing Hardly! It originally came out in 1939!! How was there life then? Kidding! I feel like watching this movie and realizing the time that it was made, that it was super innovative. How cool!
Anyway, for it's 80th anniversary this year, the movie is being re-released for a VERY limited time in theaters. The movie will be played in approximately 700 theaters on January 27, 29 and 30. Three days only. If you remember, back in 2013 a version was released even more limited to only 300 theaters for IMAX-3D. Those flying monkeys would have been a lot more scary in 3D.
Speaking of the flying monkeys- was that the most scary thing in the movie for you? I have heard so many people mentioning that.. but I always thought the wicked witch of the West was way worse. Then I played that part in a elementary school play. Green face and all. Fun times.
