The moderate temperatures so far this season have left ice skaters wishing for colder weather.  Even though the outdoor rinks aren't quite ready yet, you can start planning where to go now.

Whether your looking for a family friendly open-skate or you're looking for places you can play hockey or broomball.  There are outdoor rinks for all your desires.

I grew up a block away from a rink in South Minneapolis so I spent as much of my waking hours there as I could.  If you enjoy ice skating too, then hopefully this will help you plan out some different rinks in Central Minnesota to visit.

LAKE GEORGE

Located in St. Cloud at 425 East Lake Blvd.  Lake George has a warming house and once ice skating is officially open then the warming house is normally open daily.  Typically with longer hours on the weekends.  Check HERE for updated information.

NOONAN PARK

Located in Alexandria.  Noonan Park is at the intersection of Nokomis St. and 10th Ave.  There are two rinks, one for hockey and one for casual skating.  There is a warming house on-site as well.

NISSWA PARK

Located in Nisswa at 25628 Main Street, near the Nisswa Community Event Center.  Loaner skates are available, free of charge, during warming house hours.  There are certain days and times that the rinks may be closed so be sure to check schedules HERE.

BLACKBERRY RIDGE GOLF CLUB

Located in Sartell at 3125 Clubhouse Road.  Typically open January - March weather permitting. Grill19, the bar and grill located at the golf club, serves as the warming house and they provide skate rentals.

You can see a lot more Central Minnesota ice rinks HERE as well as ice rinks located throughout the entire state.
