Iggy Pop could for intensive purposes be considered an early prodigy of the Punk genre but when interviewed he states he really doesn't care much for punk rock.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if he's really serious but like it or not, The Stooges album 'Raw Power' is known as the earliest and strongest catalyst that influenced Punk.

'Raw Power' was their third studio release but the first one labeled with Iggy's name along side The Stooges.

Funny how this works sometimes as critics thought the album was great but sales were weak, usually it's the other way around. it did make it in the Top 50 in the U.K. but struggled to get in the Top 200 in the U.S.
