Any Hendrix fan knows it's common knowledge that he served in the Army back in the 60's, what you may not know is straight ahead...The reason for the Military service, well he really didn't have a choice sort of speak, it was either serve two years in the Military or two years serving time in prison. This came from a judge after he was busted for stealing cars.

Hendrix didn't care for either, however he did receive an honorable discharge after just one year in the Army for behavior problems and rule infractions that varied. If you ask Jimi he'll tell you he was released on a medical discharge for receiving an ankle injury during a parachute jump.
