Mariners Send Twins to 100th Loss
The Twins lost 4-3 Sunday in their final home game of the season. The loss drops the Twins to 56-100. Hector Santiago threw 5 2/3 innings with 5 hits and 4 earned runs allowed to take the loss. Max Kepler hit a solo homerun, his 17th and Robbie Grossman had 3 hits and 1 run scored for Minnesota.
Peterson Has Torn Meniscus
Viking Head Coach Mike Zimmer has indicated that Running Back Adrian Peterson has torn Meniscus and has no timetable for his return. Peterson suffered the injury in the Vikings 17-14 win over the Packers Sunday night.

The Twins beat the Tigers 5-1 Thursday afternoon to earn a split in the 4-game series. Hector Santiago threw 5 2/3 innings with 6 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win and improve to 12-8 this season.

Former Viking Head Coach Dennis Green Dies
Former Viking head coach Dennis Green has died at the age of 67. The cause of death according to ESPN is cardiac arrest. Green finished his career in 2006 with a 113-94 overall record in 13 seasons and a 4-8 mark in the postseason.

St. Cloud has held 4th of July Fireworks for 69 years and this year will be no exception. The organizer of the event is Tom Richardson. He talked with me on WJON today. Tom says the Fireworks will start at 10pm and will last approximately 20 minutes.

The St. Cloud Rox begin the 2016 season tonight in Waterloo at 7:05pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:35. Rox Field Manager Augie Rodriguez returns in the same role for a 5th season.
Friends of Clark Field Would like to Re-open Clark Field this Fall [AUDIO]
The spokesperson for Friends of Clark Field, Ruth Kaczor was my guest on WJON today. Ruth told me that the goal of their group is reach their fundraising goal of $675,000 for both phase 1 and phase 2 by June 1 to renovate Clark Field.

The Vikings in advance of free agency have agreed to terms with 28-year old left guard Alex Boone. Boone played all 6 of his seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He started 13 games last season with the 49ers before he sustained a knee injury.
Cathedral Hockey Wins Consolation Title
The Cathedral boys hockey team closed their season at Mariucci Arena today with a 3-2 win over Mankato West to capture the Class A consolation championship. Michael Spethmann scored the game-winning goal at the 15:44 mark to break the 2-all tie. Logan Neu got the assist.
