Thanksgiving Eve is by far the biggest night for bars in the area. This isn't a secret, especially to local police and the Minnesota State Patrol.

Be sure and listen to the conversation I had with Sgt. Jesse Grabow of the Minnesota State Patrol today, regarding the biggest drinking night of the year tomorrow. Click the video above.

If you and friends/family will be going out to your favorite central Minnesota bars tomorrow evening, please keep these things in mind, and save yourself from getting a D.W.I. the night before Thanksgiving...

  • Police will be everywhere. There will be heavily enforced patrol on the roads starting tomorrow through the rest of the holiday season.
  • Have a plan before you go out. Ask a family member to pick you up from the bar rather than thinking you're 'OK to drive'. Chances are that you're not.
  • Put a local cab company on speed dial. There will be tons of cabs available to give you a ride home.
  • Don't take your car out. If you're worried about getting your car home, leave it home and get a ride up to the bar. You have many options for getting home by a sober driver.

Nobody enjoys going to jail on a holiday weekend so don't chance it! Even worse, you could kill somebody...it's not worth it. Have fun tomorrow night and please be safe.
