Chipotle's sales are struggling, believe it or not, after last year's food contamination incidents. They're offering some free deals all September that you may actually like!

Late last year Chipotle dealt with a large number of E. coli illnesses within it's restaurants in 9 states in the US. Some of the case were a rare and uncommon type of E. coli. On top of that, 80 students ended up with an illness from norovirus at a Chipotle in Boston in December of last year.

Because of these incidents, many people who used to enjoy Chipotle no longer trust the restaurant chain, and sales are down overall for Chipotle, a whopping 23%. This has prompted the chain to start offering perks to get customers back in their doors to trust they are beyond the issues from last year.

On top of their loyalty program called "Chiptopia", where you get a free burrito when you buy 4 (ends Sept. 30th), they are also offering some September only freebies...

  • Every Sunday in September, get a free kids meal when you purchase a regular entree.
  • Every Monday in September, students who show their high school or college ID will get a free soft drink or iced tea with any entree purchase.

It's important, and great, to note...both Chipotle restaurants in St. Cloud had no reports of any of these issues and it's obvious to see they continue to be crazy busy over lunch and dinner rush.
