Additional Information

Six area public health agencies in Sherburne, Stearns, Benton, Isanti, Wright and Chisago counties are working together on a Public Health Emergency Drill on Tuesday, June 28. They are in need of 200 community volunteers to help with this drill and ask for your help in our recruitment efforts. “Operation Thunder” will test Public Health plans for emergency distribution of medication. During a one hour period, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m., volunteers will go through a mock clinic at Zimmerman High School. Health department personnel will practice dispensing medications to hundreds of people in a short period of time. This event will help us test plans that we will use in the event of a real large-scale disease outbreak. Adults are needed as volunteers (children may attend with an adult). A $10 gift card will be given to the first 200 adult volunteers that attend to help cover the cost of driving. Register either on-line through the Sherburne County website at www.co.sherburne.mn.us or by calling Lori at 763-241-2764.
