You know you've found your place in this world when you learn about a polka meat raffle coming to the area. A Central Minnesota bar is gearing up for planting season here in Central Minnesota, offering entertainment and nourishment by hosting a polka band and a meat raffle at the same time. The Red Rooster in Genola only offers this treat three times a year.

The Red Rooster in Genola wants you to get ready for April 13th, that's when they are holding their normal meat raffle, but they are adding in a polka band as well.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! We only do this three times per year, and our April edition is rapidly approaching. We are very excited to have The Gene Ostendorf Band back on April 13th from 1pm - 5pm, for an afternoon filled with amazing polka music. Our famous meat raffle featuring Thielen Meats of Pierz is from 2pm to 4pm! Put it in your calendars, it’s one not to miss!

If you aren't a polka fan, that's OK, you might still want to check out the meat raffle another weekend, just remember the time on Saturday, 2-4pm for the meat raffle.

You're never really sure what to expect at The Rooster once it starts to warm up, I mean someone walked a horse through the place during Oktoberfest!

The Genola bar is also known for its Bologna Wednesday lunches and award-winning Bloody Marys that have won People's Choice awards in the Twin Cities and the Fargo Bloody Mary Festival earlier this month.
