A 32-year-old man named Philando Castile died after being shot by a police officer in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. In a graphic video initially posted to Facebook’s live-streaming service, his girlfriend, Lavish Reynolds, is shown interacting with the police officer as Castile sits in the driver’s seat of their car bleeding profusely.

Castile and Reynolds had been pulled over due to a broken taillight. Reynolds claims that Castile was reaching for his driver’s license, which the officer had requested, just before he was shot four times. Castile had apparently informed the officer that he had a concealed-carry permit and that there was a firearm in the car.

The girlfriend's 4-year old daughter was also in the vehicle when the officer shot the man.

I have no opinion of this other than the fact that something went very wrong here, but we didn't see what happened before the man was shot so I can't jump to conclusions. It smells badly toward the officer since there was a 4-year old in the car and the officer shot 4 bullets into the car.

What's a little odd to me is that the girlfriend is Facebook live-streaming immediately after her boyfriend was shot and the officer has a gun pointed at him. This wouldn't be my first reaction, but rather attempting to save my friend's life, and holding my child through it all. Since I've never been in this situation, it's hard to say how I'd have reacted.
