The smell of dirt and dollars returns to Minnesota tonight as Canterbury Park opens for the summer. First post is at 7 tonight, with nine races scheduled. Then tomorrow the races begin at 1:30.

Saturday is also Preakness Day at Canterbury Park, as the second leg of the Triple Crown runs for the 137th time at Pimlico in Baltimore. You’ll be able to watch and bet on the Preakness Stakes from Canterbury.The big question is; will ‘I’ll Have Another’ actually have another win after taking the Kentucky Derby for a ride.

Sunday is Family Day with pony rides, a petting zoo and kids can race the track after the last run.

As if Bono is strapped for cash…last year U2 hit the road and broke the record for the highest grossing world tour. Forbes Magazine reported in April of 2012 that U2 has a net worth of $838 million, and as of today (May 18) Bono will become the richest musician in the world due to an investment he made back in 2009.

Up until today Paul McCartney held the title of richest musician with a net worth of $1.05 billion, now Bono will dethrone McCartney when his fortune grows to $1.5 billion. Back in 2009 Bono’s private equity firm Elevation Partners, made a smart investment in the popular social networking site Facebook, purchasing 2.3 percent of the shares for $90 million dollars. So today when Facebook’s stock goes public, offering IPO, it will be one massive payday for the U2 frontman.

Wow…I really have nothing else to say.

SCSU Athletics

The St. Cloud State baseball team defeated Winona State 12-7 Thursday in the NCAA Division II Central Regional in Mankato.  SCSU broke the 7-all tie with 5 runs in the 8th inning led by Mike Jurgella’s bases clearing double.  Garrett Fischer was 3-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI and Chris Kubitz threw 2 scoreless innings to get the win in relief for the Huskies.

SCSU is 46-12 and will play New Mexico Highlands at 7pm tonight in the winners bracket in Mankato.

With no official word from the Van Halen camp about the reasons behind yesterday’s sudden postponement of over 30 dates on their summer 2012 tour schedule, speculation has set in, some of it focused on the reportedly testy relationship between David Lee Roth and his bandmates.

Rolling Stone quotes a tour insider as saying that the band members “hate each other,” with another stating that, “The band is arguing like mad. They are fighting.” After ruling the rock world together for much of the late-’70s and early-’80s, the original members of Van Halen famously spent much of the last three decades apart, trading occasional barbs via the press (and dueling album titles) before reuniting sans bassist Michael Anthony for a highly successful tour in 2007.

The band has been on the road since February in support of their first album with Roth in 28 years, ‘A Different Kind of Truth.’ Just last week they added several new dates to their summer tour plans, making the news from yesterday all the more puzzling. (Our current favorite theory involves “a terrible case of hiccups.“)

In one of his few recent interviews in support of the new album and tour, Roth spoke highly of his bandmate, guitar wizard Eddie Van Halen, telling the Los Angeles Times, “There’s an old Russian saying: ‘There’s no more lines in that guy’s stomach.’ It means somebody got fat and slow. There are still a lot of lines in Eddie’s stomach.”

Van Halen returned the favor last month in Esquire, declaring of Roth, “We never really hated each other. I think the press blew that out of proportion… if we argued — you know, now it’s always about, about the structure of a song. It’s never personal. We’ve never on a personal level not gotten along.”

It’s hard not to envy LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell (Just hear us out, OK?). Not only do they reap ungodly amounts of cash and fame playing cops & robbers on CBS (Which I know is a network, because Nana Moody says it is), they also get to hang out with Portugese-American goddess Daniela Ruah every day.

Ruah plays Special Agent Kensi Blye on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ (which we like to call “that mega-popular show that no one I know watches”). She’s probably the only reason we’ve tuned in to watch the ‘NCIS’ spinoff every now and then. We can’t deny the allure of a tall, tough, sexy leading lady who shoots big ass guns and trashes sports cars.

The lovely 28-year-old actress, who has a distinguishable birthmark in her right eye, was born in Boston but was raised in her parents’ home country of Portugal. After graduating from London Metropolitan University, Ruah became a film and TV star in Portugal, where she won the country’s version of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in 2005.

Ruah, who speaks Portugese, Spanish and (of course) English, moved to New York to study acting in 2007 and landed the role of Kensi Blye on ‘NCIS: LA’ two years later. The show just wrapped one of its biggest events – a two-part crossover with CBS’ ‘Hawaii Five-0’ revamp.

If you haven’t caught Ruah on the small screen yet, don’t worry, her show isn’t going anywhere. ‘NCIS: LA’ is still one of the TV’s top-rated series. Here’s hoping CBS pulls the trigger on our Special Agent Blye –centered spinoff idea: ‘NCIS: South Beach.’

ST. CLOUD — Authorities are looking for a woman who robbed a north St. Cloud bank today.

St. Cloud police say it happened when a woman walked into the U.S. Bank in the 10 block of 33rd Avenue North at around 1:45 p.m. and handed the teller a note indicating she had a weapon. The teller gave the woman an undisclosed amount of cash and she left the bank and walked northbound on 33rd Avenue.

The suspect is described as 5’5″ to 5’8″, about 150 pounds with baggy clothes. It appears her race is white.

If you have information about this robbery, you are asked to contact the St. Cloud Police Department or St. Cloud FBI Office.

Van Halen have postponed over 30 dates on their 2012 North American tour, beginning with their show scheduled for July 7 at Uncasville, Ct. and ending with their planned Sept. 25 performance in Milwaukee.

No reason or official statement has been given for these postponements, nor is there any word on when the rescheduled dates might be announced. The timing seems odd, as the band announced earlier this week they were extending the tour with eight new shows.

A press release from the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the band was scheduled to perform in September simply reads: “The Van Halen show at EnergySolutions Arena Tuesday, September 4th has been temporarily postponed. Future dates to be announced.”

The band will apparently still be performing throughout May and June, with their next show scheduled for Saturday, May 19 in St. Paul, Minn, followed by 13 more dates culminating on June 26 in New Orleans. A complete schedule of both postponed and still-scheduled Van Halen concerts follows below.

Love can get messy sometimes. Divorces can get even messier. But, what often gets the messiest is the stuff left behind after the divorce that the remaining spouse must get rid of to move on. This Superior, WI woman seems to have found the best way, and a local radio station got all the photos.

Rather than posting adds for well-priced used items on Craigslist, the woman decided to have a “sale” in front of her home. The good news for interested shoppers was that everything was free. The bad news was that everything seemed to be somewhat destroyed, including a green GMC Yukon covered in vulgar graffiti indicating the former owner of the SUV to be a “cheater.” There was also a pile of charred remains of stuff, clearly the result of a small fire.

The “X-Husband Sale” stopped traffic on the woman’s street as passers-by paused to examine the items and photograph the result of the divorcee’s wrath. The traffic back-up prompted a visit from police, who spoke to someone in the home, but did nothing further with the mess on the front lawn.

Later, the SUV was gone, but the “sale” remained open. When asked, Superior Police Sergeant William Lear explained there is no law against spray painting a vehicle in your own yard. If there’s questionable language on the vehicle, he said, “Depends on the language, there’s a fine line there. If it’s creating a disturbance, if there’s threats, if it’s blocking traffic, we can tow it.”

According to court documents, the couple filed for divorce in July of 2011. A neighbor confirmed that the divorce became final on Tuesday and that set off the preparations for the “sale.” You can see more NSFW photos below. Is this a fitting revenge?

Disco legend Donna Summer has died after a battle with cancer, TMZ is reporting. She was 63 years old.

Insiders say she wanted to keep the disease quiet, and a friend said that as recently as two weeks ago, Summer seemed okay and was even finishing up work on a new album.

The five-time Grammy winner shot to fame in the 1970s with songs like ‘Love to Love You Baby,’ ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Bad Girls,’ and continued her reign on radio airwaves into the ’80s with hits including ‘She Works Hard for the Money’ and ‘This Time I Know It’s for Real.’

Summer was also the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach No. 1 on the US Billboard chart.

Actor Nick Stahl, perhaps best known for his portrayal of John Connor in ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machine’ was reported missing by his wife in Los Angeles on Monday after he disappeared for five days.

Stahl’s wife, Roseann, filed a missing persons report with the LAPD on Monday afternoon after she lost contact with the actor for five days. The pair have a two-year-old daughter together.

Stahl has had a difficult year: he was arrested in January after trying to ditch a cab ride without paying and his wife filed papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court asking for monitored visitation between Stahl and his daughter. In addition, his much-hyped return – the Fox TV series ‘Locke & Key’ was not picked up to series despite an expensive pilot from feature director Mark Romanek.

Ms. Stahl alleges the actor has a serious drug habit and the current fear is that his addiction is behind his disappearance.

Fans who were hoping to see the “lost” Beatles concert on the big screen tonight are out of luck. 

The very first concert that The Beatles ever performed in the U.S. has been put in its entirety into a new documentary.

The Beatles: The Lost Concert follows Beatlemania with interviews from the people responsible for bringing The Fab Four stateside and it includes their first concert that they ever played at the Washington Coliseum in Washington, DC on February 11th, 1964, but film distributors say that the screenings have hit a snag that will cause a delay in the film being sent to theaters. Representatives are hoping to put it into theaters later this summer and giving it a longer run. It was originally scheduled to play tonight and on May 22 and that was it. The Marcus Parkwood Cinema in Waite Park was supposed to be one of the select theaters to run the film.

Anyone who bought tickets in advance will be issued a refund.

Could it be – ‘Anchorman 2 The Legend Continues’? It hasn’t been confirmed but I’m willing to bet that will be the official title. The film isn’t coming out till 2013 but if you need a sneak peak, the first teaser trailer will premiere before Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘The Dictator‘ which opens this week.
