From Rescue to Riches: A Minnesota Cat’s Journey

In June of 2022, Chisago County police and Minnesota State troopers were notified of a person living in a car at a rest stop in Harris, MN (eastern Minnesota). The person was living with 47 cats in the sweltering heat.

The Animal Humane Society stepped in to rescue the cats. One of those rescues has gone on to be a kitty model for Target cat litter!

An animal talent agency was looking for a unique cat, and found one with Hercules. A past injury has caused Hercules' tongue to always stick out (or "blep"), which gave him a permanently adorable look.

Hercules is now the model kitty for Target's Up&Up brand of Fragrance Free Clumping Cat Litter.

I don't know what the deal is with Minnesotans hoarding cats, but at least they're getting rescued and re-homed.
