We aren't quite halfway through March, but with St. Patrick's Day staring us down this weekend a lot of people are starting to think about springtime announcements and activities. A Central Minnesota drive-in in Litchfield, the Starlite, teased online that it won't be until at least April for them to open up for the year.

We are getting lots of questions about when the Starlite will open for the season with the unseasonably warm winter we have been having. We have water pipes that are exposed above ground in an unheated environment so we have to wait until the low temperatures for the day stay consistently above freezing to open. Looking at the forecast that won't be happening anytime soon. We will be attending Cinemacon April 8 - 11 and will start the re-opening process upon our return so look for some exciting announcements in mid-April. Looking at the studio release schedule there is a great line-up of movies coming for the summer. See You Soon!

The non-announcement announcement is encouraging knowing that we are just a few weeks away from spending warm summer nights watching movies at the drive-in with family or that special someone.

According to Starlite's website, they offer up a "snack bar featuring all the usual movie theatre fare as well as mini-donuts, pretzels, hot dogs, and nachos."

The Starlite is located near Litchfield on Hwy 22 at Hwy 12 Just 1.5 Miles NW of Litchfield. Adult admission is $9 kids 5-12 $5. 4 and under are free. For further information call their hotline at 320-693-6990.
