Although much uncertainty surrounds whether or not vocalist Axl Rose will actually show up to the upcoming induction of Guns N Roses at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction on April 14, it was recently announced that punk band Green Day will be delivering the induction speech that welcomes the group into the prestigious hall.

Past Guns N’ Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler, Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed have openly said that they will be present at the ceremony in Cleveland. However at the present time, Rose and original guitarist Izzy Stradlin have not publicly commented on their status relating to the induction.

Since taking the world by storm with their classic 1987 debut ‘Appetite For Destruction,’ the former members of Guns N’ Roses exited the band one by one. Drummer Steven Adler, who has waged a very public battle with addiction, was first, leaving the band in 1990 when his demons started getting the better of him. Former Cult drummer Matt Sorum took over Adler’s drum throne, however the band’s stability would be short-lived when guitarist Izzy Stradlin left the band in 1991.

Not long after the 1993 release of their covers record, ‘The Spaghetti Incident,’ Guns N Roses imploded and now includes only Rose and long-time keyboardist Reed from the band’s heyday. Although Rose has welcomed former members Stradlin and bassist Duff McKagan on stage with the band at various points over the course of the past two years, Rose’s relationship with lead guitarist Slash remains spiteful at best.

Slash recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he is confident that Rose “hates my guts,” throwing a big question mark in the air over whether the original line-up of the band could reunite for a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance. If the group did reunite on April 14, it would mark the first time this version of the band has performed together in almost 20 years.
