Minnesota Vikings fullback Jerome Felton has been suspended by the NFL for the first three games of the regular season for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. The suspension is the result of a 2012 DWI, which was his second in four years.

Felton had appealed the suspension, but lost the case.

Last year Felton led the way for Adrian Peterson's record-breaking season, and was voted onto the NFC Pro Bowl roster. His absence will likely mean increased action for Zach Line.

Jerome Felton will eligible to return for the Vikings September 29th game against the Steelers in London.
