"Beat the heat at St. Cloud's Pop-Up Splash Pad! Attendees can run through the spray of a fire hose, check out a fire truck and police car and play some lawn games with local firefighters and police officers!

Last year's event was a huge success with dozens of people showing up to meet and greet with local heroes while cooling off under a fire hose!

No registration is required for the event. Those attending the event will need to provide their own swimwear and towel.

There are several splash pads in the St. Cloud area, with most of them opening in mid-May last year. Riverside, Westwood and Lake George all have splash pads.

There are also prominent splash pads in Waite Park (River's Edge Park), Sartell (Watab Park), Sauk Rapids (Autumn Ridge Park and a water feature at The Clearing) and Cold Spring.

Mother Nature has been kind to Minnesotans so far in 2024 and temperatures next week look like they may reach up to the 60's. With all that being said, maybe we won't have to wait until May this year to get out to the splash pads!

We can dream, can't we?
